Abstract |
Drug use related to music-dancing entertainment is a significant part of legal and illicit drug use forms. Before researches started on this topic, we have heard about this setting only from police reports and media. According to studies people going to party try to control their drug use. Featherstone calls it calculating hedonism when well being as hedonism coupled with rationality. On so called over-ground parties appear of advertisements and sponsors enhance the relation between parties and mass consumption. Harm reduction services show up as consumer protection actions. These – opposite of police control tools (e.g. police raids in discos) – can efficiently influence drug use. In underground scene and in smaller clubs spreading from 2000 appeared another type of drug use. Party attendant joins drug use with its buzz and passion dimension. Harm reduction is a method to make drug use safer and create community: suits with context of drug use and community, drug use and passion-buzz pursuit. In the book we try to present the relation between party scene and drug use from the view of party attendants and professionals. |
