Abstract |
I realised only after many clinical researches, historical analysis and cogitation if I want to know how and why certain drug users lost their control upon substances, I also have to deal with the question, how and why certain drug users managed to keep the same drugs under their control. ( Norman E. Zinberg) Zinberg's recognition seems to be evident and cliché but there is really something researchers have not known about. He pointed out that drug, user's personality (set) and his social-physical environment (setting) together affect individual's drug career. In spite of this mostly drug is in focus in public opinion but also in professional circles. Drug policy message of the book might be that let's beware of extreme statements, let's emphasize complexity and toned approaches. »Addiction and control« is a real professional work but is still free of lingo and easy to read for laymen.
